FAQ

1. Do I need to be in shape to start at CrossFit Watch City?

You don’t need to be in shape to start with us. Fitness is a journey, and we specialize in growing everyday people into their best selves regardless of their starting point. We learn where you are at, and teach you HOW to workout safely in order to help you overcome conditioning and strength thresholds. Contact us to schedule a free intro class (by appointment only).

2. What if I have a health condition or an old injury? I’ve been told that CrossFit-style training is unsafe…

We are here to give you a fun, tough workout but SAFETY is always the foundation of good movement. You are safer lifting weights in the presence of our coaches than being unsupervised at a conventional gym. We provide real time feedback to help you stay safe and improve your performance. We encourage prospective and current members to always communicate with us regarding current or past injuries, surgeries, and major illnesses (e.g. asthma, heart, back, knees, shoulders, etc). The more we know, the better we can help you.

3. Do you offer personal or private group training?

We can accommodate personal training, couples/family, and private group/team training. Give us a call at 781-330-0285, email us at crossfitwatchcity@gmail.com, or complete the contact form to discuss your personal or group training needs.

4. What if I can’t do a particular movement today, like a pullup?

Don’t worry! Our coaches are trained to help everyone in the class toward a similar workout experience. Our staff understands when and how to appropriately tailor weights and/or movements to each athlete’s relative strength and conditioning, in order to work the same muscles whenever possible. Experiencing new movements and techniques are part of the fun of learning that comes along with our programming. Continue to regularly attend classes and you WILL become fitter and stronger.

5. What are the workouts like?

Our WODs (Workout of the Day) vary in terms of planes/patterns of movement, muscular focus, interval patterns, and duration. This provides a diverse base of general physical preparedness for a wide range of tasks and challenges. Click the button to view some recent workouts:
